Do I have to have perfect credit in order to get a loan from the Women's Business Center?

Perfect credit is not required. Our loan committee considers many factors when considering loans. We look at each application on a case-to-case basis.

I need specific help with Quickbooks. Can you help?

We offer classes in Quickbooks and our instructors do an excellent job teaching students how to use the program. Check our Events section for information on when the next class is scheduled. We offer many different types of business education courses.

I own my business with my husband. Can you still help me?

Of course. We target women entrepreneurs but our services are open to everyone. We can bring in the resources from Maryland Capital Enterprises to help any business owner with their needs.

I have an idea for a business, but I don't have a business plan yet. Can you still help me?

Absolutely. We have business consultants that can help you draft your business plan and help you every step of the way.

What services does the Women's Business Center provide?

We offer counseling, mentoring, training and loans for women entrepreneurs. Whether you already own a business or have just decided you want to start one, the Women's Business Center offers a variety of resources to help make your business dream come true.

Are there grants available to help my business?

Typically, grant money is only available to assist non-profit organizations. If your business is non-profit, you will want to start with the and Foundation Center web sites. However, the availability of grant funds for for-profit businesses is extremely limited and typically highly specialized. We have found no consistent, reliable source from small businesses either public or private. We do not want to discourage you from searching for such funding, but the Women's Business Center is not aware of for-profit grant funding.
